NCSoft's Martial Arts MMO Blade & Soul has just released it's 2.1 update, Shattered Empire, giving players access to two new floors for Mushin's tower plus a duo of new dungeons: Sogun's Lament and Cold Storage.

If Blade & Soul doesn't tickle your pickle, here are some other best MMORPG's on the PC. Try to say that five times fast: MMORPG.

What else, what else? Well, there's a 6v6 PvP mode called Whirlwind Valley, a new daily challenge, a spring experience boosting event and a number of balance and item fixes.

Whirlwind Valley is an objective-based mode where "teamwork and coordination" is key for victory, but this PvP mode isn't gear equalized, so people not in their end level gear might take a bit of a kicking.

The team have also fixed an issue where the /dance emote wasn't working as it should be. Truly, they're the real heroes here, allowing the players of Blade & Soul to dance again like a martial arts influenced Footloose.

Some players thought Assassin, either increases a 50% crit rate on RMB to a 75% crit rate (which also translates to a 75% chance to use Dark Strike) or allows us to use Venom Pierce when we crit with LMB which allows us to get 5 poison stacks on any boss more easily.

I personally prefer the first, you will only be able to reach 5 poison stacks quickly if you happen to crit on Venom Slash (which itself requires a crit from RMB), also it makes lmb+rmb somewhat usefull even without 5 Poison Stacks since you ready Dark Strike a lot more often. But I guess its up to preferance, in PvP its the worst of the current HM skills but if you find you have the skillpoints go for it, I can't really spare them.

Every bomb crit let's you use F, which gives you one helix free of chi cost. Coupled with HM LMB it's very high up time on rmb/f, giving you a lot of helix. With left side f 6 sec CD you are severely crippling your helix output by not able to get more orbs from F.

Besides, KFMs get one that noticeably boosts their pve dps, at least in Wind Spec (which about half of KFMs use). The basic PVE rotation of 2-LMB-F (or 2RF) is dependant on the 2 (swift strike) critting to let you use the F (Cyclone kick, which is the super hard hitting move in the rotation), otherwise you end up just doing 2r2r2r2r until the 2 crits. The hongmoon LMB lets you use Cyclone kick when the LMB crits in addition to the swift strike, so effectively you're getting twice as many Cyclone kicks in your rotation.

For the Tiger Strike spec it has less of an effect, mostly just helps with focus regen, though it's still nice.

In PvP (if they're of a hongmoon level high enough to spare the points), KFMs will spec into the hongmoon LMB that reduces the cooldown of their TAB escape with each hit. Considering the basic 3rf combo is used so much this is certainly a decent skill, though KFM is quite starved for skill points with PvP builds so this isnt a huge priority.

My recommendations:

.Soulstone Plains (4-5) - you might have issues on the Terrors but as FM, it's not impossible to get credits on them for the dailies. Farming as much as Blade & Soul gold as you can.

.Misty Woods Faction (5) - super fast 14 Soulstones.

.Mushin's Tower (5-6) - should be able to kill up to 8.2 with your gear. Can prob kill 8.3 with a bit of work and perfect play but if it takes too much effort, skipping isn't bad.

.Shiverstone + Frostscale Basin (11) - these are all really easy and gives moderate-high XP.

.Blue dungeons (6) - I used to not do these but the XP + Charm Fragments drew me into them. Gold reward isn't the best so I usually do them last and skip if I don't have time.

.Beastbog (2-3) - ideally someone in faction chat calls out BayLee and you can zone into the ch with enough time to spare. The elite daily can be a bit annoying when undergeared but someone posted a freeze build that seems to trivialize it for FMs.

.Plog Sanctum (2) - ideally someone announces when the 3 bosses are up and you just follow the crowd. These bosses aren't hard and die pretty fast but you shouldn't have issue with credit as FM.

GHS isn't particularly hard but you might have issue with lag. I would give it a try once and see if you can comfortably get credits. If not, skip it. It's worth it if you can get credits for all of them though.

Don't get me wrong, it's not about lag, stutter, gameguard, hackers, bots or similar kind of problems, it's really about the game potential what it is and what it could have been.

I knew about blade and soul, i don't know how long, I never read about it, i just knew about it from lineage2 times, when the game was still popular and blade and soul was still in the making and I try to make much Blade & Soul gold.

Now as the game was launched, everyone says pve is not the strong point, pvp is. But still despite everything, I find it mega lacking, despite it has everything to develop it. At first when i acquired blackram uniform, i thought- wow that's cool, would love to become blackram captain, andddd met like 3 bamboo players in my life...

.We have 4 faction uniforms, but only our main faction matters. Why can't there be events like "a week (or a weekend) of blackram vs bamboo event" that motivates people to wear that uniform. Maybe event where 24 people register from both factions. And try to do a pretty big, even bigger 24man, dungeon quests. Of course people could group up and run 24 people group "deathball", but the problem, monsters still have respawns, so deathball would be pretty slow and there is a chance to be ambushed by spin-to-win (or even minimize 2 parties vs 2 parties, cuz you know optimization and stuff).

.Or for example "tyrian cultists vs stratus empire event". Maybe make a battlefield area, were 2 people from both factions are promoted to captains and have stats boosted- and you become like a boss itself, and the winner decided by who kills who's captain first. But it wouldn't be just zerg the captain. There would be requirement and buffs that require your faction to split up and eventually end up fightning in small skirmishes.

.Or "skyhaven resistance force vs talus dominion", where you must capture points/retake them/capture again.

.as much as i have heard we will get a battlefield 6 x 6, so at least that perhaps will make things more fun.

.also I don't understand why faction rewards are not somehow adjusted to the faction population in specific place for specific time. Now a lot of servers are split strongly into one side, I understand that a lot of games have unequal faction populations in servers, but there is a difference when, there is almost no reason to join a lower populated factions now- you just get "zerged" everywhere, if crimsons are dominating a server, maybe rise the rewards for cerulean- what that could potentially do is stronger guilds change into opposite faction and actually give some kind of resistance. Why not to remove penalty switching from stronger populated faction to lower populated faction. For example in my (EU) server crimson to cerulean rate feels like ~5 to 1. Don't know when the faction concept was thought, was this intended?

I do realize, nothing will be/can be done, but I just feel for a game that is not new, the content is incredibly lacking even if the strong point supposed to be PVP, I did 100 yeti runs, 100 lair runs, 35 necro runs, log in sometimes for pvp, (not going to soulstone plains, cuz meele + gameguard cutted my fps in half, have no idea why)- don't know about other people, but i find myself thinking, what can i do fun now. It's just my random thoughts, from nowhere.
